Promising Practices for Implementing Hybrid Programs
The January 20, 2023 webinar focused on hybrid programming. During the webinar, Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP and a Senior Planet trainer discussed Senior Planet’s experiences piloting hybrid programs. Attendees also heard from the Baltimore County Department of Aging on its experiences with developing and implementing hybrid programming. Social Engagement Among Tribal Elders: Creative Activities and Approaches
The February 24, 2023 webinar, hosted in collaboration with the Diverse Elders Coalition, focused on social engagement among tribal elders. During the webinar, the Administration for Community Living discussed how Title VI Native American Aging Programs address social engagement and social isolation of tribal elders, shared best practice strategies for outreach to tribal elders and highlighted how other Aging Network organizations can work with Title VI programs when developing and implementing social engagement programming. Attendees also heard from the Seneca Nation Area Office for the Aging and Shoshone-Bannock Tribes on how both Title VI programs are helping elders stay engaged and connected. Social Engagement Among Asian American and Pacific Islander Older Adults: Successful Programs and Activities
The March 16, 2023 webinar, hosted in collaboration with the Diverse Elders Coalition, focused on social engagement among Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) older adults. During the webinar, the Hanul Family Alliance, Ektaa Center’s South Asian Senior Association and the Pacific Islander Community Association of WA highlighted programs and activities their organizations provide to help AAPI older adults stay engaged and connected. Trends in Loneliness Among Older Adults from 2018 to 2023
In March 2023, the National Poll on Healthy Aging released new data related to a national sample of U.S. adults age 50–80 looking at loneliness. This May 2023 presentation by Dr. Jeffrey Kullgren, Director of the National Poll on Healthy Aging with the University of Michigan, spotlights the recent poll results on loneliness trends among older adults.

Social Engagement Among LGBTQ+ Older Adults: Successful Programs and Strategies
The April 13, 2023 webinar, hosted in collaboration with the Diverse Elders Coalition, focused on social engagement among LGBTQ+ older adults. During the webinar, SAGE provided a framer on social isolation among LGBTQ+ older adults, shared cultural considerations and highlighted available resources to support your work. Attendees also heard from Aging Ahead on programs and activities the Area Agency on Aging provides to promote social connections among LGBTQ+ older adults. Tips and Best Practices for Helping People Living with Dementia Stay Socially Engaged and Connected
The June 7, 2023 webinar focused on social engagement for people living with dementia. During the webinar, Dementia Friendly America provided a framer on social isolation and loneliness risks for people living with dementia and resources to support your work. Jewish Family & Children's Service, Clemson’s Institute for Engaged Aging and Golden Corner Respite Care Program highlighted programs and interventions that help people living with dementia stay socially engaged. Bridging the Digital Divide: Connecting Consumers to Technology and Engagement
The July 13, 2023 webinar focused on connecting consumers to affordable technology. During the webinar, Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP highlighted the Affordable Connectivity Program and how the Aging Network and partner organizations can connect more consumers to affordable broadband. The Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP) then shared how state Assistive Technology Act Programs and Aging Network and partner organizations can work with these programs to connect consumers to Assistive Technology. Attendees also heard from the Baltimore County Department of Aging on events, tech support, training and other tools it offers to connect consumers to broadband and devices and how other organizations can create similar strategies. During the webinar, YMCA of the USA, the National Council on Aging and the National Recreation and Park Association will highlighted strategies for ways organizations can use physical activity as a hook to promote and encourage social engagement among older adults.
